Do you need to pay a Parking Charge Notice?

APPEALS PROCESS

If you feel you’ve been incorrectly issued with a Parking Charge and wish to appeal, please read the information below. 

Your appeal must be submitted within 28 days from the date of your Parking Charge or within the period stipulated on the notice / document that you have received. 

You must include all of the following information within your appeal: 

• Your full name 

• Address 

• Email 

• Vehicle Registration Number

• Parking Charge reference number (this can be found at the top of your Parking Charge) 

• Your reasons for appeal

• Evidence to support your appeal, examples are provided in the table below.

Appeals can only be considered if they are submitted in one of the following ways.

I paid for my parking 

Please provide a valid parking ticket or the cashless transaction

I am a Blue Badge holder

Please provide a copy of the Blue Badge 

I was a customer

Please provide a receipt or a bank statement showing the transaction 

My vehicle has been stolen / cloned 

Provide images of your vehicle (including the Vehicle Registration Number) clearly showing the differences and / or evidence that the incident has been reported 

I was not the registered keeper of the vehicle at the time of the Parking Event

Please provide documentation from the DVLA confirming that you were not the registered keeper at the time of the Parking Event

It was a hire vehicle 

Please provide a copy of the hire agreement to transfers@parkwatch.co.uk

My vehicle had broken down

Please provide a copy of the breakdown / recovery receipt

I was a contractor / delivery driver on site 

Please provide a copy of your job sheet specifying the date / time that you were on site

What happens next? 

Once your appeal has been received, your case will be placed on hold until your appeal has been considered. 

We will aim to respond to your appeal by email (if provided) or in writing within 28 days  from the date that we receive it. If you provided an email address, please ensure to check your junk email folder as well as your inbox. 

If your appeal is rejected, you will have 14 days (from the date of our response) to pay the discounted Parking Charge rate. Please note, this is only if you have appealed within 14 days of receiving your Parking Charge.  

You will also be eligible to use the independent appeals service (IAS). Please note, you will lose the right to pay the discounted Parking Charge rate.
